Independent/Barrett Stinson

It was perfect timing, according to World War II veteran Ralph Olson (right), who is playing with Cara, one of two therapy dogs at the new nursing home care unit at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Island. Olson said the unit was ready at about the same time his health needs made him a permanent resident in January. Pictures and other items from his former home surround Olson, making him feel more at home. ÒThe care is excellent,Ó said Olson.
