Independent/Lane Hickenbottom

Independent/Lane Hickenbottom 3 Aaron "Mercury" Beye of Grand Island snags a cloud-hunter, a vintage term for a fly ball. In 19th century baseball, a striker would be out if the ball was caught on the first bounce. Mitts were not generally used until the 1880Õs.
