Independent/Lane Hickenbottom Top: Harold Skarka pushes his 1-year-old granddaughter McKenzie Skarka on a swing at Buechler Park Thursday evening. The two were at the park to watch McKenzieÕs father, Randy, play trumpet for The Knights of Rhythm Band, which was playing at the opening performance of Grand IslandÕs Summer Concert Series. Harold Skarka said he attends the Thursday concerts ÒEvery time I can, every time IÕm around. I thoroughly enjoy it.Ó Below: Marlene Behm plays accordion alongside other members of The Knights of Rhythm Band during the concert. The free concert series continues each Thursday through July 27 at alternating venues. Free refreshments are provided through donations by local businesses.
