Independent/Barrett Stinson

Caleb Barnett, 16, was one of many youths that helped out when floodwaters threatened homes in northwest Grand Island during last weekÕs storm. Barnett, a Grand Island Northwest junior, carries out a sandbag to a waiting compact wheel loader driven by his neighbor Dan Anderson. ÒI didnÕt say a word to him,Ó his mother, Lorna Barnett, said of her son when came home on Thursday. ÒThe next thing I knew, he was working with some of the neighbors.Ó
