Independent/Lane Hickenbottom

Independent/Lane Hickenbottom 1 From left, Grand Island firefighter/paramedic Chris Bond and police Sgt. Jerry Atwell pull a chilled Dalmatian named Chauncey out of the water Monday after firefighter/EMT Jared Stockwell (right) retrieved him from the lake that borders Grand Island Express to the north and west. Doug and Justine Guzinski of Grand Island and their 12-year-old daughter Heaven were playing catch at the lake with their two dogs. Doug Guzinski went into the lake to the aid of the dog, and became stuck in the cold water, himself.
