After accepting the Kim West Dinsdale Endowment FundÕs $5,000 grant for excellence in teaching for his wife, Kay Janzen, during a ceremony at Grand Island Central Catholic High School Wednesday morning, Burl Janzen receives a hug from one of her former students, Alexa Curran (right). After teaching math for about 30 years, Kay Janzen died April 9, 2006, after being treated for cancer and a brain tumor.
