Independent/Barrett Stinson

About 200 area high school students, including Lis Vazquez of Hastings High (right), were able to experience being a ÒGuard for a DayÓ Wednesday at the Nebraska Army National GuardÕs Greenlief Training Site just east of Hastings. Guard Staff Sgt. Edward Luhn helps bring Vazquez down safely at the training siteÕs rappelling area. In an effort to gain more recruits, the Guard also exposed students to a variety of information and hands-on experiences during the event, including rock climbing, a helicopter demonstration, riding in military vehicles and weapons simulators.
