A pile of just some of the keys to area businesses that the fire department carries on its trucks. The Grand Island Fire Department is in the process of returning the keys in favor of using the Knox Box system. The box is mounted to a business and holds a key so the fire department can get into the building during an alarm or fire. Each truck then only has to carry one key to access any Knox Box in the area.
