Sarah Mirza, 11 and a seventh grader at Barr Middle School, is congratulated by schoolmate Jennifer Schneider (left), an eighth grader, after Mirza won the Hall County spelling bee at Northwest High School. Mirza won by correctly spelling mezzanine and dissimilitude. Schneider finished second. Mirza also won the writing portion of the contest for her grade.
