Independent/Scott Kingsley

Lennie Kuszak has been working for the United States Postal Service for 22 years and estimates that he walks 10 miles a day on his route in central Grand Island. "You learn to buy good quality shoes. The worst part is when I go home I still have to walk the dog," he said. The high temperatures we've had recently Kuszak said "makes my attitude a lot better. Everyone who works outside likes this kind of weather." Effective Sunday postal rates will increase. Regular mail will rise from 37 cents to 39 cents, with a penny addition for each extra ounce, and postcards will gain a penny to cost 24 cents.
