Former Mayor Dobesh dies

Former Grand Island Mayor Ernie Dobesh died Monday night. He was 86 years old.
Dobesh, a retired farmer, served as mayor from 1990 to 1994 and was on the city council prior to that.
During his tenure as mayor, Dobesh oversaw several major projects including the construction of the Island Oasis water park, the new Grand Island City Hall and a new city landfill.
Funeral services are pending with All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island.
